Who Should Apply
Emory University’s Master of Science in Quantitative Theory and Methods is both an education and career-enhancing STEM-designated graduate degree that is ideal for those aiming to become well-rounded communicators as well as data technicians. The MS degree will serve a diverse range of students in multiple fields.
You'll Need:
- Undergraduate transcripts
- College credit for at least one calculus course or equivalent test credit
- College credit for at least one linear algebra course or equivalent test credit
- Resume/CV
- Three Letters of Recommendation
- Statement of Purpose (details below)
- $75 Application Fee (check if you qualify for fee waivers)
- *English Language Test Scores for non-native English speakers (unless undergraduate degree was conferred by an institution where English is the language of instruction.)
- GRE Test Scores preferred (GMAT also accepted)
Statement of Purpose
- A brief autobiography and description of your interest in data science and how it developed.
- A particular problem or social issue that you plan to improve using data science methods.
- A description of your prior research experience, including your role and the extent to which you were independently involved in the research.
- An explanation of how your past experience or academic training has prepared you to pursue graduate work in data science.
*International Students
Your application must include one of the three proofs of English language proficiency:
- IELTS exam score (minimum of 7)
- TOEFL exam score (minimum of 100)
- Undergraduate degree from a school where English is the official language of instruction
