Courses

A strength of the QTM degree options is that it relies on a common core of quantitative and statistical computing coursework.

All classes counting toward a QTM major or minor must be taken for a letter grade. Please note, students must meet the minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 to graduate with any major or minor from the department.

Changes to QTM 150 & QTM 151, effective Fall 2022

  • QTM 150 & QTM 151 will become 2 credit classes (meeting x2 per week, 50 minutes per meeting)
  • QTM 150 will cover statistical computing in R
  • QTM 151 will cover statistical computing in Python
  • QTM 150 will no longer be a prerequisite for QTM 151
  • In Fall 2022 & Spring 2023, QTM will offer both OLD (1 credit hour, taught in R) QTM 151 and NEW (2 credit hours, taught in Python) QTM 151.
    • The last semester that the 1-credit version of QTM 150 will be offered is Summer 2022.
    • The last semester that the 1-credit version of QTM 151 will be offered is Spring 2023.
    • QTM 151 will be permission only to ensure that students enroll in the correct version of the class for their degree requirements.
    • If you completed QTM 150 Summer 2022 or earlier, you should request a permission code for OLD QTM 151 (1 credit hour, taught in R).
    • If you have not yet completed QTM 150, you can request a permission code for QTM 151 (2 credit hours, taught in Python).
