Overview
The Department of Data and Decision Sciences (DSci) is recruiting teaching assistants for Spring 2026. Applications are due January 5, but priority will be given to early applications and the form will close when all positions are filled.

Spring 2026 Openings
DATASCI 100 Introduction to Statistical Inference
Graduate Lab TAs - 12 positions available
Responsibilities
- Lead one weekly lab section (50 mins per week) of approximately 40 students
- Hold 1-hour virtual office hours weekly
- Develop and grade weekly assignments; Post and manage assignments and grades in Canvas weekly
- Attend weekly virtual meetings (30-mins long) with other DATASCI 100 TAs and DATASCI 100 course instructor(s)
- Guide the students on the small group lab project throughout the semester
- Supervise an undergraduate teaching assistant assigned to your lab section (whose role is to take attendance, hand out/collect documents, facilitate group activities, answer student questions, etc.)
- Provide other course-related support such as proctoring lecture exams, lab grade entry, development of assignments or exams/exam questions,
Expected Hours
- 8-10 hours per week
- Lab sections available: Fridays 8:30-9:20, 10:00-10:50, 11:30-12:20, 1:00-1:50, 2:30-3:20
Compensation
- $2,625 per semester, paid in monthly installments (e.g., $656.25 per month)
Qualifications
- Knowledge of introductory statistics is required (e.g., basic probability, t-tests, chi-squared tests, ANOVA, linear regression)
- New TAs are encouraged to attend DATASCI 100 lectures depending on prior experience
- Basic Knowledge of R is required; if you are unfamiliar with R, you must be prepared to lead the weekly labs in advance
- Must be willing to work as a team! DATASCI 100 serves 450+ students a semester. The course instructors, graduate TAs, undergraduate learning assistants and undergraduate TAs all work together to serve students and ensure uniform teaching practices across sections
- Must be a current graduate student at Emory University (no specific field preferred or required)
- Teaching experience is preferred, but not required
